[AgMIP] DSSAT maize calibration

I have some questions on calibrating maize cultivars for DSSAT. I am trying=
 to calibrate hybrid maize cultivars in Zambia, using reported days from pl=
anting to anthesis and planting to maturity.

I am attempting to calibrate by changing the P1 and P5 coefficients until t=
he cultivar anthesis and maturity dates match what is expected. The problem=
 is this calibration has resulted in P1 and P5 values which may not be real=
istic. For example, some of the  P1 values may be as high as 490 , and the =
P5 values may be as high as 1100.

I'm wondering if there are any best practices for calibrating these coeffic=
ients using data on the crop growing season. Also, if anyone knows of reali=
stic coefficient ranges for maize in Zambia, that would also be helpful!
