Dear Colleagues,

We encourage you to submit an abstract to GC061 of the 2018 AGU Fall Meeting, entitled "Improving the Simulation of Climate Impacts on Agriculture: AgMIP and Related Research".

Session Description: Agricultural models simulate the effects of climate on crop yields, farm income, and trade, making them important tools for examining food security. This session will focus on research at the interface of climate, agriculture, and economics, including results from the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP). Topics of particular interest include the creation of climate and socioeconomic scenarios for agricultural projections, the representation of soils in crop simulations, interactions between food, extreme events, and society, assessments of drought risk and strategies for drought resilience, the food-energy-water nexus, remote sensing of agricultural lands and data assimilation, coordinated global and regional biophysical and economic agricultural assessments, seasonal crop monitoring and forecasting, and agricultural research in support of Sustainable Development Goals, Nationally Determined Contributions, and National Adaptation Plans.

The AGU Fall Meeting is December 10-14, 2018 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC (https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2018/<https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2016/>), and the deadline to submit an abstract is August 1, 2018 at 23:59 EDT (https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2018/abstract-submissions/<https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm17/preliminaryview.cgi/programs.html>).
