First Convening of Coordinated Global and Regional Integrated Assessments



The combination of a warming Earth and an increasing population is expected=
 to strain the world=92s food systems in the coming decades. To respond to =
these challenges, the Aspen Global Change Institute convened the AgMIP Work=
shop on Coordinated Global and Regional Integrated Assessments (CGRA) of Cl=
imate Change and Food Security.

At the annual ASA Fall meeting November 13th =96 19th in Minneapolis, Minne=
sota AgMIP Principal Investigators were recognized for their work in the fi=
eld of agricultural science. Drs. Cynthia Rosenzweig, Jim Jones, John Antle=
 and Jerry Hatfield were honored with the 2015 America Society of Agronomy =
(ASA) Presidential Award. The award is given to those who have influenced a=
gronomic sciences or crop production practices so greatly that the impact o=
f their efforts will be enduring on future science.

=93The AgMIP team, under their joint vision and leadership, has dramaticall=
y increased the coordination, transparency, and scientific rigor of agronom=
ic modeling to address the pressing challenges of global change.=94 stated =
ASA President Jean Steiner as she presented the award.
