[AgMIP] Agriculture and Climate Session at AGU Fall Meeting

Dear Colleagues,

We encourage you to submit an abstract to Session ID# 8489 of the 2015 AGU Fall Meeting, entitled "Improving the Simulation of Climate Impacts on Agriculture: AgMIP and Related Research".

Session Description: Agricultural models simulate the effects of climate on crop yields, farm income, and trade, making them important tools for examining food security. This session will focus on research at the interface of climate, agriculture, and economics, including results from the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP). Topics of particular interest include the creation of climate and socioeconomic scenarios for agricultural projections, statistical and process-based methods of evaluating food production, the representation of water scarcity and soils in crop simulations, the use of agricultural and economic models to explore climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, and research that enables coordinated global and regional studies of climate impacts on agriculture for IPCC Assessment Reports and US National Climate Assessments.

The 2015 AGU Fall Meeting is December 14-18, 2015 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco (http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2015/<http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2014/<http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2013/>>), and the deadline to submit an abstract is August 5, 2015 at 23:59 EDT (http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2015/abstract-submissions/<https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm14/webprogrampreliminary/start.html>).
