Regional Research Teams meet in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe



A cool bright June morning greeted the researchers arriving at the A=92Zamb=
ezi Hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe late last month as they joined over 8=
0 participants from 24 countries in attending the Agricultural Model Interc=
omparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) Regional Fundamentals Workshop. I=
nside the large meeting hall filling up with participants, Cynthia Rosenzwe=
ig and John Antle (AgMIP Co-PIs) were ready to kick-off Phase 2 of the AgMI=
P regional research projects.

AgMIP-USDA Data Harmonization Workshop
May 11-15 an AgMIP-USDA joint workshop was held, sponsored by the National =
Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), at the National Agricultural Libr=
ary to understand how to harmonize agricultural data collected from sites a=
cross the USA, demonstrate how a National Agricultural Data Network might w=
ork, develop ideas for a roadmap on how to create such a network, and make =
recommendations to the USDA (ARS and NIFA) for developing an operational da=
ta network.
