Position Overview
aWhere is seeking an Agronomic Data Analyst with a passion for agriculture =
for our growing company with offices in Broomfield, CO and Durham, NC. The =
ideal candidate will have an investigative mindset, critical thinking skill=
s, and creative drive to synthesize biological concepts and data into innov=
ative solutions to complex problems. aWhere builds software solutions to a=
ddress real-world problems that farmers face globally. The software uses we=
ather data, agricultural statistics and results of research trials with inf=
ormation from farmer surveys and crop production guides to develop decision=
support products for our customers. This person will use knowledge of cro=
p production and their expertise to acquire, organize, analyze, verify, exp=
lore and visualize data to support the development and testing of computer =
models. The Analyst will also engage in supporting and documenting statist=
ical analysis and communicating results to team members and key stakeholder=
s. This is a permanent, full-time position

Key Responsibilities and Functions
=B7 Extract, interpret and synthesize data, concepts and models rela=
ted to crop production (agronomy, plant sciences, entomology or related dis=
cipline) from scientific literature and crop production websites and public=
ations for farmers
=B7 Assess the quality of data from various sources
=B7 Clean, format, organize and integrate data from various sources =
using Microsoft Excel and statistical software
=B7 Efficiently extract information and specified data sets from lar=
ge databases
=B7 Conduct basic statistical analysis and data exploration to suppo=
rt the development and testing of computer models
=B7 Execute computer models and compile and interpret results
=B7 Produce clear and well-structured tables, graphs, reports and ma=
ps of data analysis
=B7 Succinctly present relevant findings from literature review and =
data analyses to the team
=B7 Collaborate with others on a fast-moving team working on complex=
real-world problems
* Apply best practices and lessons learned to improve team processes an=
d methodologies
Minimum Qualifications
* Knowledge of crop production (agronomy, plant sciences, entomology, o=
r related discipline)
* Understanding of basic statistical concepts
* Detail-oriented and have the ability to work at a fast pace and meet =
deadlines
* Strong work ethic, commitment to accuracy, and ability to handle conf=
idential information
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced e=
nvironment
* Ability to communicate technical subject matter professionally and ef=
fectively with different types of audiences (executives, managers, develope=
rs and subject matter experts)
=B7 Strong writing and verbal skills with the ability to synthesize =
and articulate information
* Masters or Bachelor degree and 1-3 years of relevant work experience
Desired Qualifications
=B7 Knowledge of GIS and GPS
=B7 Knowledge of data mining
=B7 Degree or work experience related to agriculture or natural reso=
urces
Technical Skills
Required
=B7 Experience reviewing and interpreting scientific literature rela=
ted to biology
=B7 Experience using statistical software
=B7 Ability to interpret mathematical and statistical models
=B7 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
=B7 Basic knowledge of relational databases
Desired
=B7 Experience with data manipulation and statistical analysis with R
=B7 Programming experience
=B7 Experience analyzing spatial or temporal data
=B7 Experience creating maps with GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)
=B7 Experience writing SQL
Physical Requirements
=B7 Must have the ability to sit in front of a computer for extended=
periods of time.
=B7 May require occasional lifting of a minimum 25 pounds from above=
, below and on an even plane.
=B7 Work is performed in a normal, climate controlled and lighted of=
fice environment.
